About
N&DRSG
Newport
& District Refugee Support Group
We are a multi agency group who seek to give practical support
to refugees and asylum seekers. We aim to disseminate information
that challenges public perceptions and aids the integration
and inclusion of our target group. We are a constituted group
with charitable aims and have existed since the Kosovo crisis
in 1999. We aim to provide access to services and support
for asylum seekers and refugees. Our objectives are: 1. Support
refugee community groups and create a network of support services
for refugees
2. Work in partnership with other agencies and to promote
the sharing of information
3. Raise awareness and promote understanding of refugee and
asylum issues
We raise awareness of issues that affect asylum seekers and
refugees and provide practical support for these marginalized
groups. We disseminate information between statutory and voluntary
agencies, working in partnership with the Welsh Refugee Council
and other refugee organisations. To see our constitution click

In the summer of 2004 we commissioned a review of our services
with a view to setting our long term plans for the future.
